Buying from us means you will know exactly where your food comes from. We are a family operation. Our name is on the product and we are easy to find.  Supermarket beef is raised in confinement production systems, or feedlots, with no access to pasture. At Smith Angus, we welcome you to come by and visit our farm at any time. You’ll see the cows in the pasture and the access they have to fresh pasture every day with rotational grazing.

Rotational Grazing-

Along with providing fresh grass, our rotational grazing system eliminates the need for daily medications that are commonly used in feedlots. Rotational grazing means that our herd is moved each day to a different section of the farm. This allows the pastures “rest time” allows forage plants time to recover and deepen their roots.

Rotational grazing brings additional jobs to the farmer, but benefits for the land and the cattle make the extra work worth it in the end.
